Rear and side extension to red brick semi-detached house in Ballinteer. Large glazing allows for light flooded spaces. The sliding doors also tilt for ventilation.

The cedar cladding continues on the inside of the building.



The south-east facing garden lounge with overhead glass panels gathers solar energy even on cloudy days.


German hi-spec kitchen, designed, sourced and fitted by Ambient Architecture. 60 mm stainless steel worktop custom made for this island incorporates 2 seamless moulded sink bowls.

Site layout, extension L-shaped to side and back of house. The unused large space of the side passage way is transformed into a trapezoidal side extension with a low pitched zinc roof and glass roof on the garden lounge.

Street elevation: contemporary horizontal timber cladding in harmony with the existing brick appearance.
