The Island is placed on a frame, to allow the floor to run through and increases the perception of space.

To the side of the original return a small extension with glass roof was added to allow for open plan kitchen / dining.

The bedroom is located in the first floor return, with a rooflight over and access to a first floor en-suite extension in timber frame construction.
